Sony Vegas Pro 11: Slow/Fast Motion Tutorial

This is part 4 of my beginner’s series for Sony Vegas Pro 11. In this Sony Vegas Pro 11 tutorial, I’m going to be showing you guys two methods of applying fast or slow motion to your footage. These two methods are very simple to use for a quick slow/fast motion in your video. This effect can be applied to any footage. But in order to get the smoothest slow-motion, you would normally want to record the footage you are editing at a high frame rate. All videos are a sequence of images, and in this case, we are going to be taking those frames and “spreading them out”, which is the overall basic process for creating slow-motion. With that being said, it’s common sense that the more frames you record, the smoother looking the footage will be. Want more tutorials on using Sony Vegas Pro 11 for beginners? Then post your suggestions in the comments down below.

Pixels After Dark: Shooting the Night

Jeff Cable is a three time Olympic photographer, but he doesn’t specialize in shooting just sports. One of his favorite things to do is to shoot images at night! Done correctly, these images will make you stand out from the crowd, since you will learn how to shoot post-sunset shots correctly, when most people can’t. He is just returning from the London Olympics where he shot photos for Team USA, but he still made sure to take time away from the Games to shoot images of London at night. Jeff visits the B&H Event Space to share tips and techniques on how to take the best night photos, giving guidance on camera settings, composite suggestions, editing techniques, best shooting times and more. Regardless of whether you are shooting with a DSLR or a point and shoot camera, Jeff will give you some great ideas to take images that will wow your friends and family. See some of Jeff’s favorite night shots images and learn the best settings for your camera, the best equipment choices, and the best compositions to get some real winner shots.
