froknowsphoto.com Thats right, you should be able to guess your exposure in three shots or less without using any metering whatsoever. I am not saying you should not learn how to use the in camera meter. I am simply saying by using the cameras LCD screen you should be able to get a solid exposed picture in three shots. Let me also remind you that the LCD screen on the back of the camera may not be an exact representation of what the image really looks like but its pretty close. Here is the Quick Tip, the first shot you can pretty much guess based off of the situation you are shooting in. Ask yourself this, is it bright, dark or somewhere in the middle? What lens are you using and what type of subject are you photographing. Based off of all these questions you should be able to guess a starting point for your first image After you capture the first image take a look at it and ask yourself this. Is it over exposed or underexposed, did you freeze the action and is the DOF what you were looking for. After you figure out what direction you should go take your second image. This image should be much closer if not really close like I was able to do in the video above. Take a look at the second image and ask yourself all the same questions again. At this point your third image should pretty much be spot on. Shooting RAW is definitely going to help you in these situations. Again I know the LCD is not the most exact representation of your image but between shooting RAW and the

Advanced Green Screen Keying [After Effects Tutorial]

Green screening can be difficult and confusing. Despite your best efforts, you can still get crappy results. You still want to use a good, bright green screen or sheet, and you still want to evenly light it, but this method I’ve developed will give you consistent and effective results using only the built-in effects that come with After Effects. Sometimes your screen might not be green enough, or maybe has wrinkles and shadows. Learn how to use the Selective Color effect to easily make your green screen greener and remove wrinkles and shadows. Next, learn how to use the various settings in the Keylight effect to key out the screen (screen colour, gain, balance, screen matte’s clip black, clip white, despot white, shrink/grow, softness). Next, we’ll extract the matte created by Keylight and tweak it using adjustment layers, the Threshold effect, lighten/darken blend modes, a bit of gaussian blur, and then apply that matte back to the original footage using Set Matte effect, thus preserving the original colors often distorted by harsh keying methods. Finally, we’ll remove the green fringe and spill by using a method developed by Andrew Kramer of Video Copilot (a much less aggressive key in Keylight, Channel Combiner). Then all you’ll need to do is color match, drop in your background, and you’ll be good to go! This was filmed using a Samsung HMX-H200 and a Canon EOS Rebel T3i (600D) DSLR, screen captures were done using CamStudio, audio using a Blue Icycle and Shure SM57 in

Minimum Computer Requirements to Edit DSLR Video with NLE

www.learningdslrvideo.com For the past few months my wife as been complaining how slow her computer has become. Her computer is a laptop that we have doc’ed to a keyboard and monitor and when we are on vacation we take it with us. On vacations she has always complained about the keyboard not working well so I headed to Costco before our last vacation to pickup a new laptop for her. The main requirement was for it was to have a good keyboard since I knew anything new would be fast enough for her web usage. She ended up picking the Acer Aspire 5560-Sb653 which was pretty much the cheapest laptop there at 0. I was kind of hoping that she would have picked a higher-end model with an I7 processor, more RAM and an NVidia card so I could create videos of our vacations from the laptop. So I was really surprised when I put Premiere Pro CS5.5 on it and I was able to make a few videos with it on the road. You can’t scrub through the video with the laptop and occasionally after 45 minutes of editing it would crash, but I actually made 4 videos with it so far. Before it would crash I could sense it slowing down and I would reboot. It is running: Windows 7 64bit AMD Quad-Core A6-3400M AMD Radeon HD 6520G 6 GB DDR3 Memory 500 GB HDD 15.6″ HD LED LCD screen Tilt of the screen, this part sucks, if you move your head 5 degrees off axis the contrast can change so much you really need to pay attention how you are looking at the screen. I tried Sony Vegas Pro 11 which just came out a
