When I travel to some place new I like to check out Flickr first to see some of the best shots of the area. Over the past couple of years I kept noticing that BridgePix (Thad) from Denver Colorado consistently was at the top of all the places I looked. I learn a lot by trying to backward engineer stuff so I thought I would try duplicating his two shoots in Breckenridge Colorado. I failed. His HDR shots are so much better than mine. The 1/4″ holes to receive the camera mount depends on the camera tripod grommet position. If you had the plate bent you could tap the holes with a home shop drill. If you take the head and your camera to a metal shop it should only take them 5-10 minutes to fabricate something. why don’t you use the hdr function in magic lantern? also thanks alot for introducing me to magic lantern… really amazing firmware. Makes the t2i so much more flexible and capable of things. I use it for photography, even though initially it was for video. It is great.
@MrCrazyeyes001 I wanted to use a wider lens like the other guy did. I did use a lot of processing in lightroom.
Hi Dave, I tried to shooting HDR, but I never got the sky to come out blue, what is the secret, ND filter or Light Room??.
Also, you said you don’t have the right lens, is there a special lens for HDR pictures?

@drumat5280 I thought you make a hdr photo with camera t2i directly. I was suprise with it, but no. because, I’m so happy if the feature of canon t2i same as sony’s dslr.

Why do you shoot at a low shutter speed and compensate with f-stop?
i have the canon T2i and i’ve experimented with HDR a lot, i love that pictures and i the conclusion i got getting a lot of HDR shots is that the more exposure steps photos you take the better. I am wondering you are asking how can that be done with the T2i, well i have magic lantern on my camera, that software is really awesome. @Anhslaught I think by HDR he means high dynamic range, but I don’t really know much about it other than that unfortunately.

Ok.. But how do I set this to this to do 360 pan or 90 degree tilt at a certain speed without the need of a clamp to press the button?

@milapse ‘Sidereal’ means ‘pertaining to the stars’. Because the Earth orbits the Sun it actually rotates slightly more than 360 degrees in 24 hours (a solar day). A sidereal day is the time it takes for the Earth to rotate once in relation to the stars, which is only about 23h 56m.

@tbizzlecu The spelling is: Sidereal check out the Wikipedia entry but it’s basically 360 degrees in 24 hours. (rotation of the earth)

wow, so this is not panning at all, this is rotating the camera. panning is when the camera moves in a direction perpendicular to the lens. that is the camera moves left or right (with a possible up or down motion as well) while the lens stays in a consistant direction

Can you program the unit to stop moving for each exposure? If you can’t and the unit keeps moving during each exposure, the resulting frames will be blurrier than what is possible if the unit can stop moving during each exposure.
