You couldn’t be any more correct
what is a wide angel lens?
I just bought this model camera “K10d”.I see no way this guy is shooting quality photos this camera is horrible in low light conditions.Photo quality during the day or of great quality but not a performing for low-light shooting.I guess it doesn’t matter for bar or clubs whereby the guest are drunk anyway…..
Why not? It’s been several months since I wrote that, but I still stand behind it. A true professional is always learning. A photographer who thinks he knows it all already is not who I would hire. The video is quite well done and informative. If you don’t think so, then make your own! Silly.
Experienced photographers wouldn’t be watching this and getting tips now would they?
how does fisheye works for you?I am considering buying one or stack some extra bucks and go for a zoom super wide angle like Sigma 10-20mm
I use a fisheye too, its awkward however… sue to the wide angle of the lens people are weiry that i’m photographing their chest.
My 7D has this, however its not true wireless, requiring line of sight between the on camera pop up flash and the external flash. Somehow it transfers flash settings, which are set on the camera wirelessly (whether thats IR or RF i dont know) but to trigger the flash, my EX430II needs to see the pop up flash fire. Dont worry though because that flash goes before the shutter, so doesnt get in the frame.
Either way its not true wireless. Maybe its the same with this camera?
He’s not “forgetting” anything. He is assuming he is talking to experienced photographers. What you’re saying is a given.
do you reckon my 20mm 2.8 can do the job with my 430EX Flash unit?
how do you insure that your equipment doesnt get broken or stolen by some drunken idiot?
Yeah I meant doesn’t create softness using a stofen but diffuses the light – meaning it still remains hard light but goes everywhere. Some people errantly think that using a Stofen somehow softens the harshness of direct flash which it doesn’t. Softness is as you say, size of the light and distance to subject.
LOL, might want to look up the definition of diffusion – it means scattering the light in different directions, which is exactly what the Sto-Fen does. Softness of the light source is a separate matter, and depends on the size of the light source and its distance from the subject. I agree with the last statement, though – I use a Lumiquest Softbox III on a bracket or handheld to obtain a softer light.
Cool video. I’m just learning myself, I’ve found a lot of helpful tips at thephotographyclinic (.) com
here is a couple tips i learned for when i was shooting a family get together the external flash help a lot to make me get a shutter speed of 80-120 i have the iso on 2000 because a have a pentax k-x grat camera for low light and it was almost pich dark with just the moon light but it was kinda hard for the autofoucus to chach on but that was my only problem and i am curiouse how did u get good shots with 1/4 of a sencond because there is so much movement anyway great vid
Your camera has wireless built in to the camera!
great!!!!
Bartender to photographer….
Im a Dance instructor going to video/photographer..
thanks for this video….
can’t hear a damn thing.
If you shoot a couple of people, try to stick with f/4, otherwise the DOF will be too small.
Do the bars offer an open bar tab in exchange for the photos?
For everything in low light, use the lowest f-stop you can reach. Depending on the lens and the camera, it can be from like 2.4 to 4 to 5.6 . The lower the f-stop, the wider the diafragma opening is going to be, so the shorter you will have to expose…. :}
what f stop do you use for nightlife?
hey bro you know what last week i got a call from my boss asking to take some pictures. Because during my inteview i said my hobby is photography. Well and i said ok then the even was Zouk Out 2009 In Sentosa Singapore. Well i NEVER shot at a night club before. I do have some experience but I’am not a photographer. I’am really stress and dont know what to do. I check your videos and you really gave me a great tips. i wanna thank you! Do check my video i’ve already upload the pic. Thanks!
Can i have it since you don’t use it anymore
Is Tamron 70-300mm good? I finds it cheap and I’m a little suspicious about the price of it when it has been said it has a Macro feature. So I was wondering wherether is it worth of buying it?
It’s not all free! We hope you also support us by also purchasing some of more advanced courses ;)
1:45- “…I just borrowed this camera from a friend…”
It’s OK if you still own/ use an entry level DSLR Karl. Nobody will judge you for it.
I love your videos and free courses on-line. Thank you for sharing your talent freely!
Hi what are your thoughts on the Raynox 250 for macro?, it’s cheap and I find very effective,,,
I don’t stray from manual mode on my DSLRs so I figure that a macro mode is just putting a priority on aperture and possibly iso or other settings, I’d stick with manual for macro shots
would u recomend to use the macro mode on mye 550D when taking macro shots, or just use manual?
you can get with tubes a 2:1 Macro, do you really think that this is not very macro-ish?
Yes, But then if is not there its not very Macro-ish, is it? 😛
Glad you got to the Macro. I am mainly here to learn more for my product photography. We have a website and upload pictures of our jewelry.
Very helpful… thank you…
Karl, thanks bro, really help me a lot in macro photography
If you want to preserve image quality go with the tubes. If you want flexibility then the filter. Depends on which filter. The Raynox-250 is a great macro filter for most lenses.
Extension tubes will limit you. It reduces light hitting the sensor. The more stacked, the more light lost, resulting in longer shutterspeeds/high ISOs. It will do well with tripods, though unless used with flashes, really isn’t good handheld. Image quality of lens is preserved though.
He is in England. So yes, spring
I shoot with an SRT 202 Minolta 35mm and use some of the technique’s you talk about. Great video glad you shared.
Hold up! Shouldn’t it be ‘Winter is around the corner’ for you?
P.S. Appreciate the video as always.
65mm mpe – beast of a lens
love all your vids 😀 my fujifilm hs10 is awesome for macro !!
I really enjoy these tips (thanks!) but one of the camera angles I find really distracting – could you do something about it? (it’s the side view thing)
thanks a lot
Thank you! I’ve been looking for macro photography tips!
Using the 18-55mm at 55mm is not very sharp. I wouldn’t reccomend zooming it to there.
Great Vid .. will you be covering reversing rings ? I have a couple of them, and have had fun using them. THey are probably the cheapest way to do macro shot.
I cant wait for the MP-E 65, I want it but I dont really really need it as a videographer.
But damn would I love to own one.
I love your video series, keep it up!
i was dying to see right hand side canon
I need all this snow to melt now!
