Hey there, This is a short documentary about Kannur, Kerala. It features tourist places, beaches and landmarks of Kannur. It gives ua good look at the main places and attractions of the place. Its includes videos and pictures which are shot with a DSLR (Nikon D5000) and a point n shoot camera (Nikon P100) . The “Behind the Shots” part at the end of the video will tell u about more about cameras n lenses. Its shot and edited in 3 months time. I am an amateur photographer, and I made this video to learn about Cinematography, Time-lapse Photography, Frame Composition, and Editing. And most of all I wanted it to do it with a still cam video, which is relatively low quality than Video cameras. Hope y’all like it and pls add ur comments n reviews. Pls dont use this video anywhere without my permission. Check my photographs in flickr www.flickr.com Thank you.

I don’t have anything wrong with this, but for me, learning all of this stuff by myself/without help was the best part! The process might be gradual and slow, but when you finally understanding how everything fits together, how the mechanisms of the camera work and how they are used to produce certain effects, and you put it all into practice… I feel like you not only develop an understanding that’s unmatched by teaching, but it’s also incredibly fulfilling.

So are you saying that you can’t aspire to be something if your poor?

  3. People are seriously complaining about $67 - SERIOUSLY? I know the economy is bad, but if it’s that bad you shouldn’t be on the Internet or aspire to be a photographer. You should be spending time making do.

  4. Why is Jared not Youtube Partner?

  5. Chelsea Goodrow says:

Got it today!!! I can’t wait til it’s done downloading :) Thank you for putting this out, and for such a low cost!

Jared you have been my mentor since i get my first DSLR tnks for all the vids… My hero

  7. hannibaljim says:

I don’t see any instruction video on the Nikon D-800. No DVD available

  8. If you don’t like the concept, don’t purchase it. It’s pretty simple. What, you wanna bitch about it too?

  9. Agreed

  10. No, people just get lazy, and spend all their money on useless tutorial vids, when they can be learning the same thing for free. Eventually this will probably decrease the average human common sence. xD

  13. It’s because his material is everything but helpful.

  14. Why so many dislikes? So far he’s been making videos FOR FREE. He hasn’t asked for anything before. For the money he’s asking for this video, it’s worth it. He talks in detail, explains everything thoroughly and comprehensively.
Look at that idiot Peter Hurley. He’s asking $300 dollars for a 4 hour video of himself talking to clients. He teaches you nothing. The only helpful part is where he shows how to get rid of a double chin, but you can find that on the web and not pay $300.

  15. Your argument would be considered weak even if Polin had useful videos for free. Alas, he only has factually challenged, on sided, ultra basic and very opinionated videos that only seem to be designed to create as large of a schism between socalled “pros” and the enthusiast. This is rather typical of people like him (dividing, deluding, misinforming and monetizing the spoils), and commercial photographers like me have a big problem with that. Unlearning costs time, it’s not free.

  16. TurtleCover says:

so if you dont want to pay for information that is avaible for free then pay for anything anymore. YOu do not only pay for the Information you also pay for the work jared did to make this video. Maybe the information that is vavaible for free, isnt as good. or some trust jared more so they will pay. BUt if you dont want to pay then just dont do it.

  17. Great. We all benefit from free content, I never said I didnt like it, having a bleeding heart is a figure of speech ( said with no negative intention), you just feel personally attacked. All im saying is that there is loads of free info out there… Why pester someone that is able to make a profit for giving it a go. He has several videos that are Free that everyone can watch… The end.

  18. canons20091 says:

Oh I have..I have a whole other channel with step by step videos.I do not call it a bleeding heart,I call it helping them that can not afford it..If you do not like that too bad..

  19. It is irrelevant to the point made. It sounds like you have a bleeding heart for those unable to afford this tutorial and who in your personal view also have no time to search youtube, the entire internet, the library for “free” info. (these are packed with free learning materials) I suggest you follow in Jared’s footsteps upload informational tutorials and make them available to all free. He can do it, so can you.

  20. canons20091 says:

oh its very relevant, yes buisness is buisness as i said..A booked appt yes,but wanting to teach someone that can not afford things is much diffrent.Maybe the parents or persons are recently laid off, issues with student loans.I’m sure all are aware but with the econmy today, one can’t be sure what is ahead as far as finances.

  21. Well said. I also see nothing wrong with Jared building a brand and getting paid for his time and effort, especially given the huge amount of time he gives away.

  22. The preview looks great, Jared. I’ve enjoyed following your channel and am now a RAW Talk addict too – really interesting stuff. For what it’s worth, it looks like you put a lot of time into producing a well-polished product and I see nothing wrong with charging money for it. It’s your time, dude, and you’ve already given away a ton of it for free.

Ofcourse there are worship places in Kannur for all religions.
But what I have shown is actually not about the worship places, or religions. Its about the art form “Theyyam”, which is a major highlight of Kannur, a place which is also called “The Land of Looms and Lores”.
Any way thanks again for sharing your view…. :)

  31. Very good video but you have not taken much effort to show the other main places of worship. Are there not any Muslim and Christian worship places in Kannur?

  42. Hi… I think u saw the camera is D5000, which has an interval shooting mode, which starts from 1 sec interval, and can record upto 999 images with that…. I didnt use any mechanical intervalometer, in which u can adjust the exposure change, if u want to…
about “tempusALL.bymac.org”….It looks like its good….

  43. great Jithesh… You are the the born photographer…

  44. that is very cool! how did you do the time-lapse? does you camera has internal intervalometer, of did you use a mechanical intervalometer? do you recomend this one? : tempusALL.bymac.org ?
