@97purna i recently upgraded from 1000d to 7d , its really not worth it , so you should go for a 550d to good L lenses
@the97house I know, i hope it will be a mix between the 7D and 1dx or actually just a faster 5Dmk2 with improved focus system 😉

I am a 17 year old photographer from the U.S. I have already begun selling my photography in galleries and have one numerous awards however I still need a DSLR and I know I will need quality glass if I want to grow as a photographer…Does Canon provide any form of payment plans or discounts for students? Because I have a job but I don’t make enough to pay for my photography ):

I know you can’t but please, please, please tell me when the 5Dmk2’s successor is coming out 😉 ?????? My 7D got stolen and this could be the moment to shift to FF, unless there will be a 5Dmk3 in a couple of monts…

Try an L lens like a 24-105 or a 24-70 
if you can afford it though, but there are many great lenses to choose from

@97purna Hmm… can you afford to add another 2-300 USD? Because then you can get the 50mm f/1.4, which is a workhorse of a lens compared to the 1.8/1.8 II.. then 70-200 f/4 is a great option. I currently have the IS version of the f/4 and it may not be an f/2.8 IS II, but it does a great job and I’m loving it. But that’s a good combination. My body is the 60D and it’s great. No regrets with it
But I’m still saving up for another body. Perhaps a 5D Mark II

@willdrill482 It depends, what lens(es) do you have. The lenses are what give the great quality though, just remember that.
@97purna If you’re just going for more portrait and less sport, go for the 550D with the L lens. The glass is what matters the most
@97purna At these times, low-budget bodies already perform very well considering resolution, ISO-range and burst, for example the 550D. But the lenses are the things that you really need to take outstanding pictures: The sharper, faster (meaning smaller f-numbers) and contrastier the lenses are, the better. BUT: You get these really pleasing results only with the pricier lenses. So you better invest in a good piece of glass. Hope I could help you.
i have a 1000d, the image quality is good but im thinking on how to improve it from buying a new lense and not buying a new body

@97purna It does depend on you. We find that most of the time, photographers like yourself invest in lenses and upgrade the body when your skills improve. Cheers, the Canon team.
