Having come from the world of real photography and being as thick as a plank end-on where digital cameras are concerned. I had eventually to buy a DSLR. So, which one! After a nightmare study of what’s available I settled on the Nikon D3200. Having set-up the D3200 to my way of thinking, I did my job and the result was just astounding. The sharpness, crispness, clarity, depth of colour and the resultant 20x28in print was just fantastic. The 24.2mp processor really does produce sharp shots.
Nikon 18-200 VR II judging by the gold VR lettering on it. Ken Rockwell’s reviewed it. £500 ish.

Hi, are you familiar with “photo SFX art” (search on Google for it)? There you will find a smart free video showing how to take brilliant photos. This made it easier for Joe to create pictures that have a jaw-dropping-effect any time you look at them. Hopefully it helps you as well.

Hello, have you tried “Photo SFXart Tricks” (do a Google search for it)? There you will find a great free video demonstrating the best way to create amazing photos. It helped Matt to take pictures which leave you with that jaw-dropping-effect while you look at them. It may help you out also.
hi i recently got this camera takes brilliant pics …but however the video is suposed to be HD but i find it totaly crap when panning left or right the whole video jerks and goes bit blurry…..perhaps im doing something wrong, if some one out there could perhaps help me understand to put this right …..or perhaps this is just how the camera videos ….if so im totaly unhappy with it …….THANKS TO ANYONE WHO RESPONDS TO THIS
LOL. More comments about (1) the lens and (2) the girl than the camera itself. You can’t buy just the D3200 body in the US, which is a shame. I’d definitely pair it up with that Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18–200mm f/3.5–5.6 Zoom Lens.

if you are new to photography and want to learn, surely a compact bridge like the fuji hs10 is far better. A bridge camera is cheaper, generally have a longer zoom range and have similar quality to dslr’s, without the big price tag. Plus, the lens that comes with them dont suffer from colour fringing or ghosting in most cases! Getting a bridge camera is something I highly recommend, they are the bridge between point and shoot and dslr cameras. They also have 90% of the same features as a dslr.

@leoj045 I think the lumix gh2 would be a good camera for u as it is famous for it’s full HD movie recording and has great pic quality

they are! rebel series are an American version of eos
Yeah they are all the same camera, including the Kiss X5. All that the names means is it is from a different region. 600D is EU, T3i is US, and Kiss X5 is Asia.

@Nipsofjustice lol nice name. But I got a Nikon d5000. It’s just like canons t3 ( 1100D) but it has the tilty swivily screen. Go to digital rev on YouTube. They’ve helped menout a lot with photography. Btw I’m 15
im trying to get a starter camera. ive spent lots of time choosing canon over nikon, and im trying to decide which camera will last me the longest, give me great quality and being under $800. im tired of using a crappy $100 point n shoot, and i love photos and how they can provoke feelings and emotions. keep in mind that im 16, have worked all summer so i can afford a camera.

How do I turn off the magnified view box in the shooting mode with the Canon T3i/600D (the little white box in the center of the screen). Is there anyway to turn it off?
