hi can you tell me more about the speedlight, for example which one you have. I know they go up in numbers, SB900, SB700 etc, what are the differences and what can i get away with for my new D900. Loving all your videos, really helpful.

@hajeh The same thing I used… speedlight. Window light wasn’t enough so I switched to plan B (speedlight)
besided the window light what can i use for baby portraits?
@leshizzi I didn’t even know there was 85 3.5. I used 1.8D. I don’t shoot wide open so having 1.4 wouldn’t help me in low light anyway. I don’t even shoot at 1.8 to be quite honest.
which 85mm did you use? f 1.4G? f 3.5G?
@PhotographersOnUTube Im using a sb80dx with triggers or transmitters, I just feel like im not even close to using the flashes features to their potential…But gonna buy a softbox thing any day now, watched a few videos on those and im sold. I need to start filming some bikes soon! But yes keep up the good work!
@AcXr50 Position one, yes. Power one.. sort of in the same video and the zoom happens automatically because I use Nikon flashes so as soon as I zoom, the flash knows and adjusts the zoom automatically. I haven’t made a video on how to use Manual Exposure with Manual Flash yet but it’s simple and I’ll do it hopefully with in a month. Haven’t seen your bike videos lately.
My Man! Have you or will you make a tutorial about the speedlight and how to position, power and zoom on the flash?

i have a nikon d3000 how can i get the f number to go donw? i think it stayes at 5.2

@MrYawn1 You’ll have to watch my flash tutorial as I’ve explained exactly how I bounce the light at what angles. No triggers. Simply attach to the camera and start firing. I can do off camera flash but this was basic stuff and I don’t like to scare the beginners when they’re just starting.

hey there…..would you just explain how you were using the flash. i noticed it was on the hotshoe but i couldnt tell if that was just a trigger for another flash. was that the only flash you were using and if so how were you using it. not so much the power output but more the angle.
i never use flash and ive just recently tried and in my opinion i didnt like the results……

@armouredhen30 Everything depends on your budget. Don’t offer spend in the beginning. You must factor a speed light and a prime lens when you make the purchase. I’m a Nikon guy simply because of incredible AF system, super friendly user interface, great ISO and color contrast and fastest way to move the focal points around which comes in handy photographing kids and events.

@loumlouma Are you talking about the thing baby is lying on? What I am using can be purchased at a pet store but don’t buy this. Buy a bean bag instead. Google bean bag and I’m sure you’ll find many stores selling that.
