    Joke on you, 17-55 is the most expensive EF-S lense.

  6. zebraman777333 says:

    but yes the 50mm prime 1.2L is the best, a bit slow, but that 1.2 is great

  7. zebraman777333 says:

    get your self the 50mm prime 1.8 by canon, it’s about $100

  8. showstoprakesh says:

    Excellent words, I agree with shiv68, flickr is better than YouTube to assess the how the lens will do!

  9. I think Flickr is a better choice for seeing how a specific lens will do with your camera body. The quality of Youtube videos is poor in most cases and does not show the true capabilities of a lens for still photography.

    @2009korte
    you’re an idiot

  12. sendhelpbaylon says:

    @2009korte your a fail. if you really knew anything about photography then you would know that a lower f/ number would generally cost more then higher ones.

  13. Hey great video thanks for the tips john easy to understand for a beginner with a 7D! Too much camera I think! On to Part 2

  14. brandy1000sissy says:

    @2009korte Yep you are right’ want the backgrond out of focus get a 50 mm 1.8 for $90. And has better autofocus than the more expensive 50 mm f 1.4.

  15. brandy1000sissy says:

    @2009korte The canon 50 mm f/ 1.8 takes sharper photos than a lot of the L series lenses. No L series zoom comes close to the plastic 50 mm. So thats a little secret for everyone. hahah

  16. sgdevilzz says:

    there’s no nikon in your video

  17. TheDoyleExperiment says:

    @2009korte how stupid are you? a 50 mm f1.4 cost more than that and a 1.2 cost over $1000, u “so failed”

  20. sarj2000 says:

    @devonmale69 stupid

  21. stanlymanly2 says:

    @2009korte dude, those 50mm lenses are plastic. thats why they’re cheap. if u look at the 50mm prime lens L series, its waaaay more expensive cuz of the build quality.

  22. jonvideo says:

    I’m not sure what you mean by “so failed”. I said more expensive, Try going an f stop lower and see what it cost. More! Every pro photographer knows that getting a good lens with a lower F stop will cost you more money. Sure, at the really cheap there’s the $90 ebay special. But you can’t take that lens & compare it to a great prime lens or a 18-200 with a 1.8. Or a good 1.4.- you can’t get for the same price so yes, it’s more expensive. Talk to any pro photographer, they will agree.

  23. silverond says:

    There should be a switch on the side of the lens, What is that set to?

  24. SuperJude143 says:

    hi i have a d90 come with the 105 leans but my a/f not working do you any advice plase

  25. jonvideo says:

    Thanks for the support- John

  26. Good stuff! I don’t know why all the fuss is about.

  27. jonvideo says:

    True if more than one person knows about it, its no longer a secret. The glass should not be cheap you are right.
