These are shots I took as a first time DSLR user. I watched some videos on youtube to learn some tricks. I am still learning my camera but for a beginner it is a great companion. This is with the stock 18-55mm lens.

yes it is a full DSLR Camera. I actually use a zoom lens I bought more than the stock lens.

a tripod is really useful to every photographer.

Actually at the time I did not have one so i put the camera on something sturdy.
you need a tripod for those long exposure shots :D
