the main reason is file size and length. many timelapses go over the course of several hours, or at least 20-30 minutes. you’d end up with a full card of video where you ultimately throw out 47 of 48 frames in a standard 2 second interval timelapse.
In fact, the video shows lots of flickering, exactly due to this. NOTHING should be set to automatic…this includes focusing!

I’m using a Canon 550D (T2i) and I can’t seem to get the shutter to automatically fire. I can manually depress the remote’s button to take a shot, but when I set it to automatically take shots using the interval setting, it counts down as it should, but never takes a photo. I have the camera on single shot, manual focus. What am i missing here?

Check my page I have one. I use blender to make them video. it is very easy and fast. Other programs can take hours.

How do you set the exposure on the timer to be less than 1 second ? I keep seeing vids of people using these intervalometers at say 1/250 but on mine it only has hour, minute and second options.

hey dave, been a fan of your videos for a while now but quick question, what did you do about power or batteries (on the camera) because I would expect it to run down pretty quickly. Any tips on how to extend battery life at all?

My friend got the 5d Mark 3 and the auto focus is super tits. If i had the money i would probably go with canon. just my 2 cents.

I don’t think you’d have much success with that for a long timelapse. 2 major reasons: 1. won’t the sensor overheat and shut the camera down after 15 min or so and 2 you will fill up your memory card really quick if you are shooting 30 FPS vs. 1 frame every 5 seconds, even though that 1 frame is much larger in resolution
