hey, which one is better, the pentax k1000 or the sp1000? and why? thanks in advance
When he said “don’t touch the shutter” it scared the shit out of me…
Did you just say that film will last longer than any file format? Electronic data doesn’t expire where as just room light over time will cause a printed image to change… paper ages horribly.
hi! i have a qstion my pentax have the mirror up and dont let me see for the viewfinder, some times when i shoot the mirror down but when i take another shoot de mirror returns up and y can see anymore, how y can fix that please?
great tutorial! I just found one of these cameras and wanted to ask – if the film rewind knob isn’t turning counter clockwise (or at all) is the film definitely not loading? It seems to be working -should I open it up?
By the way, sir, 35mm comes from the width of the strip of FILM – not the image frame, wich in this case is 24×36 mm . Because this film is used in many different frame formats, including in motion picture industry.
you look like the idiot abroad
Great tutorial! I just “dusted off” my old Minolta. I have the urge to take b/w landscape portraits and I never really understood the mechanics if the lenses. Included I have a 200mm as well as a fish-eye lense. Hidden treasure put away over 15 years ago…Thanks!!!
Such an awesome vid
Good Vid..!
Film has a wider dynamic range than digital.
Ie it picks out details in dark areas that a digital camera loses. Film has a lot of plus points as does digital.
The killing drawback of film is its cost getting your photos developed.
If you do test out an old camera just do a test roll and get it developed first.
Anything wrong will be obvious straight away.
Does The Pentax k1000 and k1000 SE the same?
I waaaant *–*
Got mine for 45 on ebay. i spent 96 bucks, i got 15 rolls of film, the camera strap, a cheapo body hole cover thingey, and my grandma had an old zoom lense 😀
WTFF JEALOUS
It’s film. No flash. Needs no batteries.
i was gonna buy this k1000 but found a canon ae1 for next to nothing….
i do like how the k1000 can be operating with no batteries…
You speak way too fast dude! Great video but slow down
I just got one from Value Village for $8!
I just got mine from a flea market for 17.50!
THANK YOU. I just pulled my fathers old Pentax out of the attic and am excited about giving it life again! My only memories of it are clicking away when it had no film in it, so I needed to know how the dials were used properly and most importantly, how to load it properly. This video helped me 100%!! My only problem now is, I guess, the very outer ring of my 50mm lens is loose and jiggles in place. Will this harm the photos?
why does it say asahi on the camera?
isnt that an asian beer manufacturer??
mine cost me 18 lol
Don’t touch the shutter!
You can probably still use the film. The exposurs balance might not be good, though. Most pro photo labs still process b&w film. If you want a cheap way to try b&w type film, try the chromogenic C-41 stuff. They are made by Kodak as TC400N, and ILFORD’s XP2. I personally like the Kodak, as it’s available in drug stores and photo shops, while ILFORD is strictly a niche brand. The ILFORD is more like true b&w film, IMO.
