If you’re still looking for an effective screen-capture program on Windows, Camtasia is pretty good. Just tinker with the settings there (google around for the best!) to find the best codecs and whatnot. My computer (i7 920, 6GB RAM) can record videos playing back seamlessly. Just make sure to set the recording location to a drive seperate to the one you have running Windows. It’ll help your framerates out a lot, since drives struggle reading and writing at the same time.

Well, if you want to hear my opinion, i think that Premiere pro is more creative then Vegas.
Whatever, as i said that’s my opinion.But Vegas is pretty nice too,but easier.

the framesize of the foto does not match the frame size of your sequence.

I edit on a PC and on a mac final cut pro dose a similar thing with rendering and it has to do with the image size and video playback quaity

Well as usual I am exploring new ways to encode my videos so how good is CS5 for down sampling video while maintaining viewing quality for lower resolutions while having options for enhancing low res or low quality video and frames? Got a GTX460 to use.
hei dave did u find out about the line turning red when u added that white background ? btw when u are rendering is it the cpu only that kicks in or does the gpu from the card help aswell? is there a wa y to only use gpu ?

Hi Dave, I didnt have any problems in playing MOVs flawlessly in Vegas Pro. Its a quadcore though.
@BrandedChannels thanks for the tip, that is the method I have decided to go with.
You probably get a red line because you do the Opacity effect on a superimposed clip. You can adjust the Opacity level as well by CTRL-clicking the yellow line on the clip itself (not the super-imposed one) and adding two keyframes. Set the first to 0% and the second to 100% and you’ve got your dissolve.
Between two clips you can use a crossdissolve / dip to black / dip to white as well, but this depends on how much head or tail you have…
have you tried sony vegas 10 dave? it can handle canon h.264 flawlessly as well. no more transcoding and that’s saved me a bunch of time
you can get rid of the red line simply bi hitting enter key so it renders that part … it can be annoying sometimes but I’ve got used to it…
